ÆBLE 2012 TOP 10 ALBUMS

yESSIR, så er den her!

10. Rick Ross - Rich Forever
(26 point)

Packed with high-octane post-"BMF" bangers ("High Definition") and balanced by lush anthems like "Keys to the Crib" and the smoky "Stay Schemin," which even gathered considerable radio traction, the "mixtape" was so strong—and so heavily anticipated—that it seemed like a high water mark for Ross.

9/8. Nikolaj Nørlund - Alt sammen, lige nu
(28 point)

9/8. Grizzly Bear - Shields
(28 point)

While there's no question that Grizzly Bear's last two records have sounded gorgeous, critics of the band have wondered if that's enough. Shields, the band's fourth and most compositionally adventurous record, should put those concerns to bed. Though full of baroque, detail-rich production and latticework melodies, Shields also offers an emotionally resonant core.

7. Hot Chip - In Our Heads
(31 point, 1 førsteplads)

In recent years, Hot Chip have managed to rewire their abundance of ideas into a more cohesive whole; the out-of-kilter album tracks are less jarring, the tone of voice in the lyrics is more sympathetic and soppy yet the singles are still unashamedly upbeat but part of a greater good. And In Our Heads, arguably their most consistent record to date, is certainly their most fun.

6. Japandroids - Celebration Rock
(32 point)

Decideret dårligt er det aldrig, men heller ikke rigtig medrivende. Bare sådan lidt lala - og langt fra min årsliste.

5. St. Vincent & David Byrne - Love This Giant
(36 point. 1 førsteplads)

The leadoff "Who" and oddly danceable "Lazarus" take rhythm ideas from tUnE-yArDs, while "The One Who Broke Your Heart" unabashedly recalls Buster Poindexter's '80s craze "Hot Hot Hot." That's not new musical territory? Giant is Byrne's best venture since Music for the Knee Plays

4. Leonard Cohen - Old Ideas
(48 point)

Dylan dreamed he saw St. Augustine. Cohen has walked the earth trying to be St. Augustine. He has never made a pretense of his confessions being anything other than personal – there really was a Suzanne, just like there really was a Marianne. But as time has gone on, Cohen has shorn the ornament from his language to move from the personal to the universal. The lyrics on Old Ideas reach for the stark power of prayers, hymns and religious riddles. The music is just as basic: a keyboard or guitar breaks the stillness, a drummer tries to simulate a Casio rhythm box, backup girls offer comfort to the weak, a stringed instrument gives a final blessing.

Frank Ocean - Channel Orange
(50 point)

Bob Dylan - Tempest
(80 point, 1 førsteplads)

Kendrick Lamar - good kid, m.A.A.d city
(80 point, 2 førstepladser)
